Arizona Travel Guide

Arizona is located in the South West of the United States. It is a landlocked state and for a large part covered by desert. These deserts are one of the main attractions. You can visit Arizona any time of the year, but the desert areas are most comfortable from October through April. Wear winter clothing at the higher elevations from November to March. Wear lightweight, very cool clothing in the lower elevations from April to October. You may enjoy the red-rock canyons of Sedona, the urban sophistication of Phoenix, the playful excitement of Lake Havasu City, or the sunny outdoor activities of Tucson, but whatever your pleasures, you'll discover a rich mixture of culture and amazing natural landscapes. Arizona offers plenty of wide-open spaces. It also offers mountains, lakes, and forests for fishing, hunting, boating, hiking, river-rafting, camping, horseback riding and jeep touring. Don't miss the Four Corners region, home to Navajo and Hopi Indian Reservations in the northeastern part of the state. This is an area of many natural wonders including the Petrified Forest, the Painted Desert, and Monument Valley.

Visitors may be surprised to find the original London Bridge in Arizona. Moved here from England in 1970, London Bridge is the focal point of Lake Havasu City, located on one of Arizona's many large man-made lakes. Lake Havasu is in the northwest corner of the state on the Colorado River. Phoenix the capital is an easy going city and a good base for exploring the rest of the state. A visit to Tombstone is a must. The Grand Canyon national park is located in the North of Arizona, it is without a doubt the most visited attraction of the state. Navajo National Monument offers a unique insight in the precolumbian cultures of this region. The houses the cliffdwellers made here are truly impressive. Sierra Vista is a cracked out little town south of Tucson by about 70 miles. It's full of weirdos and bizzaro people.
